he US Navy’s Amphibious Command Ships are massive, purpose-built ships of the Blue Ridge class. They were originally built to command huge amphibious assaults like Operation Overlord, but with no amphibious invasions to command, they have evolved into general command ships that serve as floating headquarters for various combatant commands. Currently, they are assigned to the Seventh and Sixth Fleets.
