Media reports say this indicates that Wagner fighters may not take part in Russia’s war on Ukraine. The reports followed speculation that Prigozhin was in talks with Putin to decide his future relationship with the Kremlin. Earlier, Russian General Igor Girkin has also claimed that Prigozhin had returned to Russia to hold talks with senior officials. However, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko confirmed that Prigozhin went into exile in Belarus on June 27 after calling off his mutiny.
