Today we serve you an update about Ukraine’s plan of taking back Crimea from Russia.The illegal annexation of Crimea from Ukraine by Russia occurred eight years ago on 18 March, and its impact is still felt deeply in Ukraine. The wounds of the annexation have yet to heal, and for many Ukrainians, the Russian government’s brutal conflict against their nation is a painful reminder of the 2014 takeover of Crimea. Recently, Oleksiy Danilov, the secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council revealed plan of retaking control of Crimea from Russia. The fact that Russia has been using the bases in Crimea to attack Ukrainian infrastructure has further convinced Kyiv that regaining control of the region is necessary to completely eradicate the Russian threat.
