The first ex-British Challenger 2 tanks have arrived in Ukraine and are reportedly combat-ready. Analysts are suggesting that these tanks may be deployed in Bakhmut, a besieged city in eastern Ukraine’s Donbas region, to relieve pressure on the Ukrainian garrison.Bakhmut is a strategically important city with only two main roads leading into it from Ukrainian-controlled territory to the west. Unfortunately, both of these roads are under fire from Russian artillery and rockets. In response, the analysts at the independent Conflict Intelligence Team or CIT predict that the Ukrainian counteroffensive strategy will focus on unblocking Bakhmut.
