TRUMAN Back at Sea After Collision Repairs

The USS Harry S Truman (CVN 75) has completed the emergency repairs to the parts of the carrier on the starboard side that were damaged in the collision, specifically the sponson behind elevator 3 and the exhaust vent aft of that that runs all the way to the stern.TRUMAN entered what it officially known as an emergent repair availability at Souda Bay, Greece on February 16, four days after the collision after transiting from the waters near Egypt. The repairs ultimately took five days, which was a lot less time than maritime experts predicted.
