This is unusual timing for a retirement announcementToday we’re looking into the increased military operations in the Caribbean. Just yesterday, Adm. Holsey stepped down announcing his retirement as head of US SOUTHCOM one year into a three year assignment. This comes amidst reports that he had been at odds with Secretary Hegseth over the increasing strikes off the coast of Venezuela. Meanwhile, the most recent US strike appears to have left two crew members alive who are now detained aboard a US Navy vessel.
