The Army has been trying to replace the Bradley for 40 years, and it has failed for 40 years. That isn’t a bad thing; the Bradley turned out to be a really capable weapon, but now the Army seems to be serious about finally finding a new IFV to wear the crown.The XM30 program has had its ups and downs with name changes, requirement shifts, and funding questions, but it seems to have the best chance of any to actually replace the Bradley and some new developments shed light on the program.In this video, we look at the history of the replacement efforts, what the Army wants in the next generation, why this time is different, and we break down the two finalists competing to finally retire the venerable Bradley.
