In this video I will look at a new drone on its way to Ukraine, donated by Taiwan. This bad boy is the Revolver 860 and 800 of these are reported to be on their way. That number seems very, very high to me. I suspect there is a translation error somewhere in there.This thing is a monster. It’s a large quadroptor with a weapons bay containing eight 60 mm mortar rounds that it can release one after another. What an awesome—awesome drone. These are reportedly already in Ukraine. It can be modified ipon request to carry 81 mm mortars or even 120 mm mortars.With a full load it has a flight time of 25 to 40 minutes and a range of 20 km. That is range from the operator I believe, so it can fly out for targets at a max range of 20 km—which is pretty good, comparable with some older artillery pieces. The fact this was sent by Taiwan is a surprise. Taiwan has its own fish to fry with China looming on the horizon, so I am pretty surprised they sent these to Ukraine.Ukraine has had a lot of success with drones dropping mortar rounds. Now, they have a platform that drops eight—this will definitely improve operations by allowing thr drone to saturate an area and hit a wider range of targets. It could also track fleeing soldiers down for a followup strike.On the downside, it is a big, chunky drone. So it will be easier to spot than the smaller drones that we have seen. But there is no doubt, this is an awesome bit of kit and I hope we get some videos of it in use soon.
