Taiwan has commissioned a new navy minelayer to add to its defenses against possible invasion by China.President Tsai Ing-wen presided over a commissioning ceremony on 14th January.The vessel has been designated ‘Fast Mine Laying Boat-2′ with a pennant marking FMLB-2.This is the second vessel of this type.Viewers may note, Taiwan commissioned its first fast minelayer, FMLB-1, in December 2020 and received FMLB-2 in September 2021.ROC or Republic of China Naval Command has stated, that the fast mine-laying ships were designed based on enemy threats and combat requirements, combined with the current mine-laying operations plan, to strengthen the threat of enemy ships crossing, and create a favorable situation for joint defense operations.In this video Defense Updates analyzes how Taiwan is planning to make Taiwan Strait a graveyard for Chinese warships?
