Russia’s ‘Turtle Tanks’ seem to have everyone quite stirred up in the armored vehicle community and I wanted to take a look at the two principles of defense for tanks in modern conflict against drones and anti-tank guided missiles. Cope cages and the overall turtle tank armor package are nothing new. But the change in armored warfare since Syria is very interesting to study and observe when it comes to tactics and the ability to protect tank crews. In this video we review the concept of turtle tanks and the fact that they are very ingenious but certainly not successful overall or sustainable.
