The decommissioned frigate HMS Argyll will not go to the Clyde to be used as a training platform for apprentices as previously announced and may be sold overseas. There now are unconfirmed reports the Royal Navy is offering to sell HMS Argyll to the Chilean Navy, either if her refit is completed to be an addition to their fleet or as a donor ship to provide spares for the three ex-Royal Navy’s Type 23’s they have in service.
