The Polish Ministry of National Defense signed an agreement with US drone manufacturer General Atomics Aeronautical Systems (GA-ASI), to lease the MQ-9A Reaper.The net value of the lease agreement is US$70.6 million.Through the procurement of this MQ-9 lease, Warsaw hopes to increase its country’s defense and security capabilities.GA-ASI CEO Linden Blue said, GA-ASI’s support for Poland and the NATO alliance is very useful for the country in dealing with the ongoing war situation in the region.MQ-9A Reaper is a highly sophisticated development built on the experience gained with the company’s battle-proven Predator RPA and is a major evolutionary leap forward in overall performance and reliability.The Polish Ministry of National Defense announced on February 28, 2022 that it has a strong desire for the MQ-9 drone.It was not stated how many MQ-9 units were rented and for how long.
