A fire broke out at the Afipsky oil refinery in Russia’s Krasnodar region on Wednesday. The governor of the region later said that the fire was likely caused by a drone. Four civilians were injured in the shelling of Shebekino settlement, according to Russia’s Belgorod governor Vyacheslav Gladkov. Meanwhile, Ukraine said that explosions were heard in Melitopol followed by black smoke blowing over a Russian military base. Ukraine said its Special Operations Forces (SOF) successfully ambushed Russian troops in the Kherson region. Kyiv said the SOF spotted a boat of Russian troops moving head-on to them along the river. Russian President Vladimir Putin has admitted that Moscow’s air defences need to improve. The UK has said that Ukraine has the right to “project force” over its borders for self-defence following a drone attack in Moscow. However, the US said that it does not support attacks in Russia and it is gathering more information about the attacks.
