Japan sends two F-15J Eagle jets & 60 personnel for air combat exercises with the Philippines

The Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) sent two F-15J Eagle jets and 60 personnel to carry out aerial combat exercises with the Philippine Air Force (PAF).The drills were held at Clark Air Base, Pangpanga from 27 November to 11 December 2022.Previously, The Japan Air Self-Defense Force and Philippine Air Force had conducted bilateral exercises on humanitarian assistance and disaster management (HADR) in July 2021 and June 2022.The Mitsubishi F-15J/DJ Eagle is a twin-engine, all-weather air superiority fighter based on the McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle in use by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF). The F-15J was produced under license by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.The Japanese Ministry of Defense stated on 4 February 2022 that 68 F-15J would be upgraded through the Japan Super Interceptor (JSI) program at a cost of JPY646.5 billion (5.6 billion USD).————————————————————————————————————-
