Is America’s Red Sea defense really worth it?

Based on our calculations, the U.S. Navy has burned through roughly $780 million in ordnance defending commercial and military ships from Houthi attacks in the Red Sea over the past year or so, which is admittedly far more than the Houthis have spent on the attacks themselves. So let’s try to determine whether or not this effort is really worth the immense cost… and why these interceptors seem to cost so much.
