Iran’s Supreme Leader had reportedly warned the Hezbollah chief to flee Lebanon days before he was killed in an Israeli strike. Ayatollah Khamenei had even sent an envoy to beseech Hassan Nasrallah to leave for Iran, as per a Reuters report. In his message to Nasrallah, Khamenei had cited intelligence reports that suggested Israel had operatives within Hezbollah and was planning to kill him.Deeply suspicious of Mossad’s infiltration into senior govt ranks in Tehran, Khamenei has himself moved to a secure location following Nasrallah’s killing.
