The Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor stealth fighter is being revamped to fly further and detect targets at longer ranges, especially near-peer 4.5 and 5th-generation fighters. The US Air Force announced the $11 billion upgrades for the Raptor at the end of 2021, and now we have a first glimpse of what the upgraded aircraft looks like with new stealth drop tanks and external pylons.
