With a history of nearly 90 years, the Indian Air Force (IAF) is considered the fourth largest air force in the world. The Indian Air Force has about 1,700 aircraft, including 242 Su-30MKIs, 113 MiG-21 Bisons, 91 Jaguar Sepecats, 66 MiG-29 fighters, 41 Mirage-2000 multirole fighters, 44 MiG-27s, 19 attack helicopters, etc. Most of the IAF’s aircraft are old, outdated or have difficulty in maintenance and replacement of spare parts.
