Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu held a high-level security consultation on Oct. 29 regarding ending the war with Hezbollah, according to a report. The focus of the meeting convened by Netanyahu was related to a diplomatic solution to the war in Lebanon, as per Channel 12.A discussion was reportedly held on whether to end the conflict with Hezbollah or to expand *IDF’s ground operation in southern Lebanon. A team headed by the Israeli strategic affairs minister has drawn up proposed terms under which to end the conflict, Channel 12 reports. Ron Dermer has reportedly recommended that Israel should try to end the conflict, capitalising on its military achievements against Hezbollah. The meeting was also attended by Israeli defence minister Yoav Gallant, IDF Chief Herzi Halevi, Mossad chief David Barnea, and Shin Bet head Ronen Bar. The TV report says Halevi strongly recommends seeking a negotiated end to the fighting.Meanwhile, Israeli defence minister said that Israel’s war against Hezbollah has reduced its rocket capability to 20% of its pre-war numbers. Israeli defence sources clarified that Gallant’s claim is related to the around 50,000 rockets believed to be in Hezbollah’s arsenal prior to October 23, 2023. All of this is within the context of Hezbollah having had an estimated pre-war combined rocket and mortar arsenal of 150,000.#israel #israelhezbollah #lebanon #netanyahu #gaza #middleeast #middleeastconflict #warnews
