I’ve noticed an interesting trend in recent weeks – Russian vehicles seem to be going out alone with more frequency than before. Tankers typically like to operate in groups of at least two – so one tank can recover another tank if it gets stuck in mud. However, it’s been since January 6th since I’ve seen footage of Russian Vehicles operate as combined arms teams. Video here: https://ryanmcbeth.substack.com/p/ana…It might be possible that the standard Line, Wedge and Echelon formations of tanks is more of a thermal beacon to drones than a system of maintaining situational awareness. If FPV drones are both deadly, hard to detect and difficult to defeat, then it might make more sense for Russia to send its tanks out alone to be destroyed one by one than it would be to risk entire companies of tanks to be destroyed by drone swarms.
Forever Alone – A New Russian Tank Tactic?
