Ukraine is reportedly set to receive the US-made Joint Direct Attack Munition – Extended Range, or JDAM-ER bombs. Unspecified “precision aerial munitions” are part of a $1.9-billion aid package that the Pentagon announced in December. Ukrainian squadrons currently have limited capability to strike a targets not farther than a few kilometres away. However, with the new JDAM-ER, the Ukrainian military can bomb Russian targets as far as 80 km away.
