German defense startup Helsing has unveiled its new unmanned combat aircraft, the CA-1 Europa. Developed by the Munich-based German-French defense company and its subsidiary, Grob Aircraft, the autonomous unmanned combat aircraft is expected to make its first flight in 2027. Helsing claims that the CA-1, combined with its Centaur AI software and Grob’s proven aircraft design and manufacturing capabilities, will offer a new approach to air dominance.the unmanned combat aircraft is expected to be operationally ready within the next four years. In this context, the CA-1 Europa stands out as a 3- to 5-ton autonomous unmanned combat aircraft designed to deploy a large number of affordable and flexible platforms in high-intensity operations, known as “intelligent mass.”
