AI Pilots Fly Combat Air Patrol | MQ-20 Powered by Hivemind

General

Shield AI has completed its second flight demonstration of Hivemind, its cutting-edge mission autonomy software, on a GA-ASI MQ-20 Avenger, in a live-virtual-constructive (LVC) environment, the test showcased real-time coordination between a live aircraft and its digital twin in a complex, mission-realistic scenario. Hivemind executed tactical maneuvers such as formation flying and combat air patrol, using Autonomy – Government Reference Architecture (A-GRA) compliant mission planning tools — a major leap toward scalable, operational mission autonomy in contested environments. Shield AI continues to advance mission autonomy powered by Hivemind to enable unmanned systems to perceive, decide, and act to complete complex missions independently, at the edge, without relying on GNSS, comms, or human input, standalone or as a team.
