Western analysts often make the mistake of identifying Russia and China as allies. Russia is China’s business partner and that too only because the West has isolated the Russian economy. In fact, Russia and China are expected to clash in many regions like Eastern Europe or Central Asia where Beijing is trying to eat into Russia’s sphere of influence, or the Arctic where China wants to undermine Moscow’s primacy.
