Are military sea planes about to make a comeback? Long-range helicopters like the Sikorsky MH-60 Seahawk and the ships they can operate from have largely replaced seaplanes in many military roles. Likewise, there are plenty of military transport aircraft, such as the C-130 or A400M, to deliver logistics to far-flung places, if you can create the landing spaces. If that is true, why are the US and China both reportedly engaged in developing military sea planes again?
