The UK has now confirmed it will send Challenger II tanks to Ukraine. These will be the first advanced tanks given to Ukraine by its allies since the war began. Kyiv has been pleading for more modern weaponry for months – and hopes the British decision will put greater pressure on Germany to allow the delivery of its own Leopard tanks.
