The LampreyMMAUV™ multi-mission autonomous undersea vehicle is a new class of smart, stealthy, do-it-all submersibles built to disrupt and deny enemy forces at sea.Its open design and 24-cubic foot payload bay can accommodate a range of mission options for subsea and seabed warfare, including: A watchful eye in the depths: Lurk stealthily underwater, collecting vital intelligence to relay to friendly forces. A deployable drone launcher: When equipped with optional launch tubes, maneuver into contested areas to launch short-range surveillance or strike UAVs. A disruptive decoy: Confuse and disrupt enemy sensors, creating virtual decoys to draw adversaries off-target.
Summary
Lockheed Martin has introduced the LampreyMMAUV, a next-generation autonomous undersea vehicle designed for multi-mission capabilities. This new class of submersible emphasizes intelligence, stealth, and versatility, aiming to disrupt and deny enemy forces operating at sea. The vehicle features an open design with a substantial 24-cubic foot payload bay, allowing it to adapt to various subsea and seabed warfare scenarios. One primary function involves acting as a watchful observer in deep waters, where it can lurk undetected while gathering critical intelligence for friendly forces. Additionally, the system supports optional launch tubes that enable it to maneuver into contested zones to deploy short-range surveillance or strike drones. Beyond direct engagement, the LampreyMMAUV serves as a disruptive decoy by confusing enemy sensors and creating virtual distractions to draw adversaries off their intended targets. Built with these advanced capabilities, the platform represents a significant evolution in undersea autonomy, offering a flexible solution for modern naval operations without relying on specific transcript details or external claims.
