Anduril Industries has announced Arsenal 2, a major new shipyard at Sparrows Point in Baltimore County, aimed at expanding production capacity for the US Navy’s Virginia-class attack submarine programme. CEO Brian Schimpf said the facility will cover 2 million square feet, create more than 3,100 direct jobs, and produce assets critical to submarine manufacturing. Anduril said the site will use software-centred manufacturing to ease bottlenecks in the undersea industrial base.
