Last week, Ukraine signed a Letter of Intent, or LOI, with Sweden to procure between 100 and 150 SAAB Gripen Es, which are advanced 4th-generation fighters that were, in a lot of ways, purpose-built for the type of conflict Ukraine currently finds itself in.
