Five people were injured in an overnight Russian drone attack on Ukraine's capital Kyiv, according to the city prosecutor's office. According to Associated Press Russian drone strikes have damaged 34 sites in the Kyiv region over the past day, including in the Bucha, Obukhiv, Brovary and Bila Tserkva districts. Russian strikes also hit the southern city of Zaporizhzhia, damaging civilian infrastructure. A strike destroyed a cafe with a blast wave, and debris damaged a car wash and shattered windows in nearby residential buildings. Footage released by Ukraine's emergency services showed firefighters evacuating buildings and attempting to put out fires in both Kyiv and Zaporizhzhia in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Zaporizhzhia was also hit by strikes on Monday, which hit apartment blocks, a university and a shopping mall, among other sites, and wounded five people. The daily attacks underscore the lack of significant progress in diplomatic efforts to end the fighting more than four years after Russia invaded its neighbor.
