The Ukrainian Armed Forces launched a drone strike in Dagestan. Acting Head of the Republic Fyodor Shchukin reported that the fall of "drone fragments" caused a fire at the Makhachkala International Seaport. Overnight, reports of explosions began appearing in local chat rooms. Specifically, there were reports of a lack of air raid sirens and the operation of Russian air defense systems. It is reported to be the only ice-free deepwater Russian port on the Caspian Sea. It operates year-round and handles both liquid and dry bulk cargo. On September 1, Russia reported setting a historic grain record: over 2.9 million tons were handled in eight months. Liquid bulk cargo handled totaled approximately 1.83 million tons. The dry cargo harbor includes a transshipment complex, berths for general and bulk cargo and containers, a railway and car ferry terminal, and a grain terminal. Six berths with a total length of over 900 meters can simultaneously handle six vessels. The commercial seaport operates its own transport fleet. A drone also hit the Gamzat Tsadasa Avar Musical and Drama Theater. Theater director Magomed Bisavaliev reported that the drone crashed onto the roof. The explosion blew out windows and started a fire.
According to Fyodor Shchukin, all fires have now been extinguished. There were no casualties or injuries as a result of the attack.
Ukrainian drones also attacked the Voronezh Region, Governor Alexander Gusev reported. He said one of the drones hit a private home in Borisoglebsk. A woman was killed and two others were injured.
A total of 448 Ukrainian drones were shot down overnight over various regions, the Russian Defense Ministry stated.
