Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukrainian forces carried out a series of strikes against Russian oil and military infrastructure overnight, including the Yaroslavl oil refinery and a military airfield in the Rostov region. According to Zelenskyy, the strike on the Yaroslavl refinery was conducted as part of a joint operation involving the Security Service of Ukraine, Special Operations Forces, the Main Intelligence Directorate and the Foreign Intelligence Service. He said the SBU also successfully targeted a Russian military airfield in the Rostov region. Zelenskyy said the strike resulted in confirmed damage to an An-12 transport aircraft, two An-26 aircraft and three helicopters. The Ukrainian president said the overnight operations were part of Kyiv’s continuing efforts to target Russian military capabilities and infrastructure used to support the war against Ukraine. Zelenskyy also reported “good results” from Ukrainian operations in the Black Sea, although he did not provide specific details about the targets or the extent of the damage. He thanked Ukrainian servicemen for their actions, saying they were making the war “felt” inside Russia on a daily basis. “Every day we respond to aggression. Russia must choose peace,” Zelenskyy noted.
