The European Union is seeking more than 10 warships for its Red Sea naval mission as Yemen’s Houthis expand their control along the coast and threaten shipping near the Bab al-Mandab Strait. EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas says Operation Aspides needs more naval and air assets. Meanwhile, Britain is preparing to provide defensive air-to-air refuelling for Saudi warplanes, while France has offered to help protect Saudi energy infrastructure. The G7 has also urged the Houthis to halt attacks on Saudi Arabia.
