Two Russian oil refineries have halted crude processing following Ukrainian drone attacks, according to Reuters report. The Syzran refinery stopped operations after a September 15 strike damaged its AVT-6 processing unit, which accounts for around 71% of the facility’s capacity. Another unit, AVT-5, remains under repair following a July attack, with repairs to the refinery expected to take at least a month. The Saratov refinery has also halted operations following another attack, Reuters reports, after failing to fully restore production following an earlier strike. The outages are expected to put further pressure on fuel supplies inside Russia. Moscow had previously restricted exports of gasoline, diesel and aviation fuel amid concerns over domestic fuel availability. The latest strikes on the Syzran and Saratov refineries add to the pressure on Russia’s domestic fuel market, which has already been affected by restrictions on gasoline, diesel and jet-fuel exports.
