They told Lieutenant Carson the thing in the crate would save his life. They did not tell him it would make him feel like a complete idiot while doing it.He crouched by the wreck of his F-86 Sabre in the Korean brush, enemy voices echoing up the ridge, while he unfolded what looked like a child’s pool toy.The bad news was that there were 60 miles of hostile territory between him and safety.
