The Future of Naval Warfare: Inside Naval Group’s Next-Gen SETIS CMS

Discover the future of naval combat systems! In this video recorded during our Euronaval 2026 press trip, Michael Vaxelaire, Marketing Director for Surface Ships and Systems at Naval Group, presents the new and upcoming features of the SETIS Combat Management System (CMS).

=====================

The SETIS CMS, developed by Naval Group, is the core operational "brain" used on modern surface combatants like France’s FREMM and FDI frigates. By drastically reducing the OODA (Observe, Orient, Decide, Act) loop, the system empowers crews with no time to lose: "The SETIS system is able to do that for any air threat, surface threat, submarine threat, but also drone threat."

Through their SETIS R&D work, Naval Group has improved the traditional Combat Information Center (CIC) by combining Artificial Intelligence (AI), Augmented Reality (AR) and advanced human-machine interfaces—including 3D digital representations.

Modern naval warfare requires processing massive streams of data from radars, sonars, uncrewed systems, friendly units and satellites at unprecedented speeds. SETIS integrates AI to manage this "data overload" through:
– Tactical Decision Support
– Virtualized Architecture
– Unmanned System Integration
