Swedish defense company Saab has revealed its high-end Autonomous Collaborative Platform, or ACP. The proposed A3 is a reusable, low-observable uncrewed combat aircraft designed for supersonic performance and operations alongside manned fighters. Unlike lower-cost disposable loyal wingman drones, Saab’s A3 concept is intended to perform high-risk missions inside heavily defended airspace. Its potential roles include air-to-air combat, electronic warfare, suppression of enemy air defenses, and deep precision strikes. Flight testing could begin in the early 2030s, followed by initial operational capability in the middle of the decade.
