Russia Suddenly Loses The Initiative And Putin Sets His Sights On NATO | VisualPolitik EN

šŸ” Learn about finance with us in a simple, free, and straight-to-the-point way:

Something strange is happening on the border between Latvia and Belarus. In early October, armed men escorted a group of migrants to the Latvian border and pushed them toward NATO territory, and hours later several hooded individuals crossed over, destroyed an electrical panel, stole the surveillance cameras and went back to Belarus. Meanwhile, Moscow warns that simply sending more NATO troops to the Baltic states would already be an escalation, and according to The Economist, Putin fears for his own safety if the war ends without him controlling the entire Donbas.

Ukraine now holds the initiative. Its deep strikes are hitting depots, refineries, airports and data centers far behind the front, Russia's oil and gas revenues fell 17% in the first nine months of 2026 compared to 2025, and Kyiv has started firing its own ballistic missiles. A growing share of its drones and missiles comes from factories on NATO soil, like the Fire Point rocket fuel plant in Denmark.

In this video we look at why a cornered Putin might take a risk against NATO: to spread fear in the West and push Kyiv into a minimal deal, to hit the factories behind Ukraine's long-range strikes, and to justify a new mobilization at home. We also look at how NATO could respond, from a minimal reaction to Article 4 or Article 5.

Will Putin dare to play the NATO card?
