Russian forces targeted firefighters responding to a drone attack in Sloviansk, Donetsk region, according to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service. The incident began when an FPV drone strike set a private residence ablaze in the city. Emergency crews arrived to put out the fire, but while they were working at the scene, Russian forces launched another strike, hitting the firefighters and damaging one of their fire engines. No emergency workers were reported injured. The crews were able to bring the fire under control, but were forced to temporarily stop their operations because of the continued risk of further attacks. A separate Russian strike sparked a fire inside an apartment in a 14-story residential building in Sloviansk. Firefighters responded and extinguished the blaze. In nearby Kramatorsk, Russian forces also struck a nine-story residential building, causing fires to break out in several apartments and on balconies. Emergency crews eventually extinguished the flames across an area covering approximately 500 square meters.
