Putin Cites New Territories To Justify ‘Lengthy’ Ukraine War, Zelensky Asks Russia To Admit Mistake

President Putin said Russia is not “crazy” to launch a nuclear strike even as he warned thethreat of a nuclear war is growing. Moscow’s strategy for using weapons of mass destruction is built around the so-called ‘retaliatory strike’, he told a meeting of Russia’s human rights council. Putin also invoked Peter the Great and “new territories” acquired in Ukraine to justify what he admitted was turning out to be a “lengthy” war. Ukraine President Zelensky said Russia continued to fight a lost war due to denial that Putin had committed the “the biggest mistake of his life”.
