Jennifer Reeves, senior resident fellow for spacepower studies at The Mitchell Institute, spoke to Sky's Yalda Hakim after the US military confirmed weapons have been deployed into space.
She said the confirmation came in order to have 'a deterrent effect' and that 'there have been activities in space for many years'.
