During the mission the Stingray demonstrated its ability to receive commands from the Unmanned Carrier Aviation Mission Control System enabling the aircraft to taxi, takeoff, fly, and land autonomously. As the Navy’s first operational carrier-based unmanned aircraft, the Stingray will extend the reach and effectiveness of carrier air wing by providing unmanned aerial refueling and enabling manned-unmanned teaming.
