The Trump administration is preparing a $2.8 billion munitions package for Israel, including tens of thousands of 2,000-pound bombs
The proposed sale would provide Israel with a substantial new supply of heavy aerial munitions amid continued scrutiny of its military operations in Gaza and Lebanon.
The planned package includes 20,000 MK 84, 20,000 BLU-117 bombs, as well as 20,000 I-2000 penetrator warheads.
The sale has already been informally communicated to congressional committees that review major US arms deals, Washington Post reported citing a US official.
