Iran's Revolutionary Guard released footage on Monday it claimed showed an American MQ-1 drone being destroyed over the Strait of Hormuz.
Footage shows a surveillance and targeting system tracking an object in the sky before it disappears from the screen.
The location and timing of the footage could not be independently verified.
"An MQ-1 drone belonging to the US military was intercepted and destroyed by fire from the new and advanced air defence system of the Aerospace Force," the IRGC said in an accompanying statement.
