What an absolutely unforgettable day at RAF Fairford on 26 March 2026! This was one of those rare full-day sessions where the action just kept coming from sunrise to sunset… We started the morning with an incredible sunrise recovery of Rockwell B-1B Lancers, returning from overnight operational missions in stunning early light. Shortly after, a pair of Boeing B-52H Stratofortresses launched out of Fairford, shaking the airfield with that unmistakable BUFF power. Then the tempo ramped up even more with three more Rockwell B-1B Lancers departing on operational missions, making for an amazing run of heavy bomber movements throughout the day. And just when it looked like the action was winding down… three fresh B-1B Lancers arrived direct from the USA, pushing the number of based Lancers at RAF Fairford up to an impressive 15 aircraft!
