What’s worse than deliberately bad force design? Deliberately bad force design by committee. More than a year ago, I asked someone to pick the worst aircraft of WWII to equip the fictional nation of Emutopia. My job, was to use every procurement trick in the book to get the Government to buy the worst of the worst. For 2026 I wanted to make the challenge harder. And so rather than sourcing all the picks from one person, I took individual recommendations from people across industry, government and Patreon with my job being to figure out a way justifying dozens of random picks into a single procurement plan.
