F/A – 18 Super Hornet – The Navy’s Dumbest Mission May Finally Be Over

General

The Boeing MQ-25A Stingray is being developed to take over much of the carrier air wing’s aerial refueling mission, currently performed by F/A-18E/F Super Hornets carrying buddy stores. Removing fighters from routine tanker duty could preserve aircraft life, free up pilots and return more Super Hornets to their primary combat missions. What do you think? Will the MQ-25 significantly improve the carrier air wing? Is buddy tanking really the Super Hornet’s worst mission? Should the Navy have developed an unmanned strike aircraft instead? Let us know in the comments below!
