Hundreds of far-left Catalan separatist protesters rallied and clashed with police Friday in the Spanish city of Barcelona during the region’s national day. According to Associated Press using riot police vehicles, police attempted to disperse protesters. Some protesters threw items at police vehicles and a bin was set on fire as protesters watched on. Sirens could be heard billowing throughout parts of the city. It comes following a gathering of a small far-right, pro-Spain group downtown. The Catalan region celebrates its national day with the different factions of the separatist movement deeply divided.
