If you have been wondering why I have been completely offline for the last 7 months… this is why. We set out to design, fund, and build THE drone for the DARPA Heavy Lift Challenge. In this video, I take you behind the scenes of project “BUS”—a massive, custom 55-pound VTOL tilt-rotor UAV engineered to lift an unprecedented 135 pounds. We secured over $30,000 in grants and early-stage investments to bring this crazy airframe to life. I break down the test and flights of the aircraft. Hope you find it as cool as I do.
