The US and Iran continued their strategies of competing blockades. This morning, three Mediterranean Shipping Company containerships attempted to exit the Persian Gulf via the Iranian routes, but two of the ships came under fire and were seized. In the meantime, the US, after seizing an Iranian containership and a Botswana flagged tanker, has now targeted or diverted five other Iranian tankers.
